Cole represented Judge Claire Gilham in her landmark Supreme Court case, recognising whistle-blowing rights for judges and office holders. Khan acts for Semhar Tesfagiorgis, a croupier at Aspinall’s Casino in Mayfair in a claim for race discrimination.  She also won a widely reported disability discrimination claim on behalf of city trader, Adam Glover Bailie against ADM Investor Services International.  More recently Khan won a claim of sexual harassment on behalf of a female executive assistant against a billionaire arms dealer employer.

Shazia Khan said,  “we launched Cole Khan based on a combined 35 years experience fighting injustice head on.  We are honored and thrilled to take forward our dedication and passion through Cole Khan unhindered by the constraints of working in a large corporate law firm”

Emilie Cole said, “Cole Khan is founded on the principle of a complete commitment to doing the right thing for clients, whatever it takes, because injustice has no place in our society or our work environments. We are so excited to have created a law firm moulded firmly in our vision. We’re in this to make a real difference to society.”

Emilie Cole and Shazia Khan met whilst working at Bindmans LLP.  They joined in 2009 within a week of each other, and quickly forged a firm friendship, paving the way for a shared vision and passion for achieving justice.  Shazia previously worked with trailblazing lawyers Louise Christian, Michael Fisher and Sadiq Khan.  Emilie trained at Duncan Lewis & Co, specializing in human rights work.  Quickly rising the ranks to partnership, their reputation as a powerhouse saw them headhunted by Irwin Mitchell in 2017 to set up a new London Senior Executive & Professional Discipline team.  But they wanted to do more.  And so Cole Khan was born.
